About a week ago, I had specifically set my Facebook settings to give me the “Most Recent” posts, NOT “Top Stories”, because I was missing too much from the people I wanted to hear from, and was tired of the pablum Facebook was force-feeding me.
Well, today, all my friends were gone, and only really old garbage from people I never heard of was coming through.
Sure enough, Facebook had surreptitiously switched my Newsfeed setting (top of FB’s left hand column) back to their “Top Stories”, and NOT what I had chosen.
I will now begin double-checking my Newsfeed setting at least once a week.
Remember, Facebook is free because somebody else is paying them to show you what they want you to see. You only truly have control of the content if you run your own website. Not hard at all. Believe me, if you can navigate the maze that is Facebook, you can navigate your own WordPress site.
