A2: I am a big believer in self hosted WordPress sites and very much appreciate the code availability from WordPress.ORG. Self hosting gives one a LOT more control over plugins, themes, and ___ *content*.
I am aware that WordPress.COM has earned itself the ugly reputation of being censorious of speech *content* on behalf of the intolerant left, in opposition to the First Amendment. So while I never say never, particularly for someone who is completely technically unskilled, I will include the caveat about WordPress.COM’s history with corporate suppression of free speech, were their site to become too popular, and would offer them possible future migration services.
